| Beryl deserves a break. He's been busy since coming to the academy. Glad to see Mewi in better spirits and opening up more to others. She's been an important character since been introduced. Even though this is a Summer break, Beryl still ended up being busy, just not on the battlefield. |

| Great seeing Beryl going back home to visit his family and have a break he deserves to relax. Mewi is slowly opening up to others which is really nice to see. |
| This week, Beryl gets to finally return home for a while, and this leads to a pretty chill and fun episode overall. Besides some interesting explanations on Beryl's background, we got quite a few amusing and sweet interactions, in particular between Mewi and her new 'grandpa', but also between Mewi and Curuni. I imagine Curuni will take center stage next week or the one after, as we already got episodes centered on Allucia and Surena (both season 1), and on Ficelle more recently. |

| It’s really nice to have an adult anime protagonist who still has and is so close to his parents. Beryl’s relationship with his dad especially is so beautiful and it’s no wonder he’s so good with kids when that’s his old man. You can really tell Beryl got his touch for kids from his dad because the way his dad instantly clocked Mewi being nervous, telling her she’s his granddaughter and telling her to call him grandpa is so cute. He claimed it was a joke, but it’s obvious he was trying to help settle her nerves and make her feel at home🥹 now I’m just waiting on her to start calling Beryl “dad” moments like this make this show stand out so much among all the fantasy seasonals. I think his one issue is he has a little too much respect for his dad and that’s holding him back from becoming a better swordsman and surpassing him. Thing is, there’s absolutely nothing a father would love more than to be surpassed by their boy. I would be surprised if we leave this home trip without them sparring and Beryl winning |

| Beryl definitely deserves sometime off, he has been working hard non stop for a long time. I like Beryl's parents, they are fun and good people. Very funny moment when Mewi was trying to say grandpa. Henblitz is a fine swordsman and got respect from the students. |

| Hopefully we'll get to see what Beryl's hype of his father is all about next ep. Gotta admit, the old man has aura.... |

| I knew it! Beryl's dad was going to ask him about her future wife and... Well, Curuni took the stray. Mewi is now part of the family. She's a granddaughter! And now, the Edels are "dead". They learned a bit of a lesson there. Beryl was proud. We got a bit of a Bunta Fujiwara moment there when Beryl said he never could beat his dad. The guy has skills, sure. But not enough to beat the original. Well, the captain wanted to try, but the old man had an old man back, so that's a no. Yup Beryl. No one can beat Mom's food. But our stomachs can't handle the same amounts we ate before. |

| we are finally getting some of what was promised in the shows title. i dont really care all that much about the world building, the show is called country bumpkin to sword master and i want them to fill the promise of shonen they made ages ago. lets hope they do a proper follow through, i dont need another person to tell me how strong beryl would be if he tried, we have a season of that. |

| While it was too bad that Allucia didn't join Beryl and company Curuni did and she ended up catching 'strays' from Beryl's father but I don't think she minded being a wife candidate lol. Anyways, this was an overall nice chill-type episode which I didn't mind although it looks like Beryl's father may end up fighting Henblitz and maybe even Beryl himself in the next episode, and I'm curious to see how strong Beryl's father is. |

| I wonder if his father is really that strong, or if Beryl just lacks confidance when facing his father, and that's why he seens to lose every time against him. He passed the impression that if Beryl REALLY put his mind into a fight, he could take on his own dad. I wonder. And even Henblitz was surprised to see that yet another famous ex-adventurer was student in that academy, and how they are able to fend off monster on their own, in that village 🤣 |

| After a lot of episodes in the city, it's a nice change of pace to go back to the village. Will be interesting to see how strong his dad really is. I assume they haven't fought for years and Beryl is much stronger now, but his dad avoids another fight. |

| Im surprised Allucia didnt try to come along. I wish she became a little more prominent in the story.. Right, his parents wanted him to get a wife to get grandchildren. But MC said "I never lose, including my virginity" so he just skipped that step and adopted one. Thinking about this whole setting a little.. isnt having your own renowned Dojo the big dream as a martial arts teacher? They just stole that from him! And handed it off to someone else! teaching kids is totally different from teaching adults in the order. |

| Enjoyed this episode much more than the previous 3 for sure. Love seeing Beryl interact with his dad, but Beryl better get married soon or else I think he'll force him too...not like Beryl doesn't have multiple options or anything. But the highlight was seeing Henblitz sparring against the two new characters and using the skills Beryl taught him in the first episode about fighting multiple opponents. |
