Ha, they somehow made an episode about hot springs as part of its plot.

Arianne even got curious about what Arc really "looks like". Not going to lie, this episode had meme-like moments especially when it intentionally hid Arc's face. Arianne gettinng conscious about a kiss is priceless.

I am honestly not surprised that the hot spring did not work. If it had actually cured Arc, we would have had a pretty awkward situation where the series suddenly needed a new title.

Decided to watch this episode, was curious how they'd adapt the hot springs and, unsurprisingly it was very bad. To begin with it should've been episode 1, 5 episodes before it were useless anime original. They skipped like 80 pages and started with a dragon right away. While dragon encounter wasn't terrible, hot springs part wasn't terrible, they still managed to be stupid about many parts. For example, Only an elf can guide you through a forest that leads to that spring, they mentioned it themselves at the beginning of the episode, then explain to me how does Ariane just says, "ok, lead your people here" So, then what? Chiyome goes back to her village, which is like a week by foot from there if not more, and then leads back people through the forest by herself? its incredibly stupid, she'll just lose her way, and that also means around a month or so went by, since went was unconscious. Obviously this didn't happen in the novel, when Arc woke up he teleported back to the human capital, and from there Chiyome led him to the village, there he met Hanzo and other top Jinshin fighters, he even drank hot springs water to temporarily turn himself into dark elf, but the transformation was undone in the middle of it, that's how everyone present there learned that he was a skeleton. From there, Arc teleported a large group to build a village first. And even now, it's still unknown whether the village has been rebuilt. They also faced some other dragon as a group.

Meanwhile anime, not only ruined the meeting with Hanzo, by having him travel to the hot spring himself, when he never did. This whole thing makes it look like, they are migrating the whole village there, while in reality they are only migrating those that are weak. But they also instantly revealed to Hanzo that he is a skeleton which is also stupid.
Then they also completely abandoned the fact that Arc drank hot springs water to turn himsefl back to dark elf.
Then, perhaps the most important!!! they forgot to mention that Arc is dark elf not human lmao. This was so weird, because Ariane even asked Arc, "didnt you say you were human, but you were elf all along"

Then there was Chiyome sexually harassing Ariane which wasn't in the novel, and they just decided to change character personality for some strange reason.
Also the kiss part, making Chiyome dumb enough to believe in this and Ariane actually going for it? That was probably the most painful part, not only did that never happen, but I never imagine Ariane doing it or Chiyome suggesting it. What actually happened was Chiyome suggesting making him drink hot springs water to see if he's breathing or not, and she thought the most effective way would be mouth-to-mouth, she even suggested she can do it herself, she never felt any embarassment.

And lastly, the Danka scene also never happened. In fact that guy never should've appeared in the anime, I have no idea why anime wants to make this guy relevant. He is irrelevant as it gets.

So yeah guys, first time ever, we get an adaptation of WHOLE VOLUME in 1 episode. When I say I've never seen a worse adaptation, I really mean it. Even tv shows, have a more faithful adaptation lol

I genuinely couldn't continue watching the episode after they showed Arc with flesh, but immediately kill him again, to return him back to being a skeleton.

The whole point of the anime, is to get him back to normal, but they're just going to tease that for the entire anime as they go through various random events.
Furthermore, he's not even human.

Had to reluctantly finish this episode...
Crazy writing to go from "It's a Curse" to "It's a Soul transplant" meaning the writers can easily get by ignoring the main point of the plot.

All in all, I'm thinking about dropping it by next episode, sad how low quality this season is.

@phantomfandom funny enough, that was mentioned in the novel. When Ariane was carrying him from hotsprings, something was hitting her from behind and she got all embarassed. Ofc anime skips it

What a nice first episode of the season, we don't waste any time just go straight to the hot spring where important things happen. No unnecessary side quests. Huh? ... what do you mean 6th episode?

@Hirugiku I wouldn't be completely mad. Looks like they follow manga more than LN in some cases.
- Manga also skips the "I can drink spring water to turn my self into dark elf".
- In manga, Arc wakes up night before Chiyome is ready to shatter his skeleton into dust and give him Jinshin-style burial (she was ready with hammer and everything).
- Danka scene happened in manga (well it was a message, not literal scene), that guy who attacked him is very important to certain someone (I thought that was in LN too though, maybe I remember incorrectly, it's definitely in manga)
- I agree that not talking about Arc being dark elf is dumb, that needs to be mentioned next episode.
- Yes they were stupid about many parts, but I would say no worse than first season.

@Sen-Vetis @Mainnus You guys missed the point then. Arc's curse is not the main plot of the anime.

For anyone interested what the main plot actually is (spoiler, even though they gave hints about this already):

Is Arc going to get his flesh body back?

I do not think that body builder hunk was Arc's prior world body, So does he have a this world body as well as the skeleton skin and the prior world body? Is that what interferes with his transformation?

"Steel yourself and plant a wet one on him."
Chiyome is a bit too caught up in romance tales.

So that dragon gets pissed off because, while he's busy hiding underground for whatever reason, someone walked on the ground that was covering him? That was pretty stupid, although the rest of the episode was good. I'm glad he didn't get his body back quite yet; that would've been anticlimactic

Was not ready for fully skinned Arc already, thought the hotspring was at least a few episodes away...but thank god he's still the bony skeleton MC (●ˇ∀ˇ●)
Don't know if I could have kept watching Skeleton Knight in Another World if there was no SKELETON!!!

Apart from that makes sense why he couldn't last in the restored body which the dragon was talking about, due to Arc truly having a different soul than the game's original.

Sad we didn't get to see Ariane and Chiyome's reaction to Arc's restored body...and the mention of something hitting Ariane's back when she was carrying Arc (‾◡◝)
But seeing Arianne going for the sleeping beauty kiss was funny enough.

This is trash.

Static images instead of animations.

4-5 episodes are fillers. Arc wandering in multiple locations solving the local problems. All of filler plots are nearly the same.

Do not recommend.

Arianne was literally a breath away from that kiss, huh? 🤭 Imagine a kiss is what breaks the curse and Arianne just keeps going tsundere 😭

But that explanation Dragon Lord have is the most logical I've ever seen. I never thought about how an untrained body might react to all that immense power Arc currently has. Dammit, that's smart

Poor Arc lol getting burned to bits by an embarrassed Ariane.

So from what I’m seeing, we got LN content this time around but it skipped a bunch of stuff and changed how some things go, well that’s unfortunate but personally I’m just happy to finally see this hot spring lol. There was an encounter with a dragon first (although he turned out to be quite the understanding fella) but then it was time to take a dip in the spring, and… fleshy Arc was very short lived lol, but it was expected that it wouldn’t be this easy to cure his “curse”, plus like some others have said, it would no longer be “Skeleton Knight in Another World” if Arc wasn’t a skeleton anymore lol.

But despite Arc’s human form not being permanent, I am glad we got a quick glimpse of it, and bro was absolutely jacked, plus it looked like he might be an elf himself based on his ears, neat stuff, also we got bonus Ariane fanservice there which is always appreciated lol. And after Arc was unconscious long enough for Chiyome’s people to move in, he finally woke up right before Ariane kissed him (100% called that would happen), and now he’s face to face with an old feller and Goemon, guess we’ll see what this is about next time.

And some final things of note, looks like a plot involving someone close to Chiyome is coming up from looking at the ED visuals that shows that masked person that attacked Danka, and also Domitianus appeared for first time this season I believe, I was anticipating him giving how Season 1 ended so it’s nice to get a tease of him after so long.

Yeap, I had a felling the springs would not work on him. It did, for a while, but the nature if his existance is not that he is cursed, it is his "character" from the game. Now I wonder: what's next? 😅

!!! It was exciting to see Arc in his human body.

The previous few episodes have been fun, but also perhaps kiiinnndddd of filler? so it was unexpected to have a sudden montage of the crew journeying to the magic spring (where that journey actually seemed kind of interesting compared to some previous things 😅).

We on to a second bathing scene for the season. Rip we didn't get to see proper reactions of Arc's "real" body from Ariane and Chiyome lol. I heard that we did in the LN for the same moment.

Nooo, Ariane was so close to kissing sleeping beauty until he woke up lmao. Chiyome and Ponta be like us egging her on to do it. Looking back in the manga, some things are def different. Probably so for the LN as well as others have pointed out already.

Welp, ig we have to keep the MC as a skeleton else the title won't hold up the status quo lmao.

Never ending plan to watch list...

That was an awesome episode, Too bad arc didn't fully recovered his physical body with skin probably that settings he did made it his default body that nothing in that world could turn him back permanently and the dragon lord explanation cemented that since I wasn't that far in the manga so these are new to me.

. . .
So what's the point of Arc travelling then?
Why did Ariane go with Arc, and why does she worry their time together will end if he returns to being himself?

If we can agree to disagree, then there's far more issues with the story than just being aimless.
