'Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei Movie: Yotsuba Keishou-hen' Unveils Additional Cast Pair, Second Teaser Trailer
The official website for the anime movie adaptation of Tsutomu Satou's Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei (The Irregular at Magic High School) light novel revealed an additional pair of cast, a second key visual (pictured above), and second teaser trailer on Saturday. The anime movie, subtitled Yotsuba Keishou-hen (Yotsuba Succession Arc), is scheduled to premiere on May 8.
Voice actors Shion Wakayama (Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu) and Shuuichirou Umeda (Mashle) are joining the cast as Kotone Tsutsumi and Souta Tsutsumi, respectively.Jimmy Stone (Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei 3rd Season) is helming the movie at 8bit. Original illustrator Kana Ishida (Wakaba*Girl) is designing the characters. Taku Iwasaki (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann) is composing the music.
Satou penned the novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website from October 2008 to March 2011. Kadokawa published the light novel under its Dengeki Bunko label with illustrations by Ishida in 32 volumes from July 2011 to September 2020. Satou launched the Zoku Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei: Magian Company sequel light novel in October 2020. Kadokawa released the tenth volume in June 2025, with the 11th volume scheduled for release on March 10.
Yen Press licensed the light novel for English release in March 2015 and published the 26th volume on February 10.
