I get what you mean (and I agree), but it doesn't change the fact most anime nowadays are adaptations of Light Novels (who were written as a Web Novel first, sure, but the Web Novel version are, most of the time, different from the Light Novel version).

Still, not all Light Novels are found on this website, some gains adaptation because the author won a writing contest. I would say books like that are better than those who are randomly discovered on line. Especially if we considere the fact the author who submits a series for a contest, submits the one they like the most, but if they writes dozens of Web Novels, the one who's picked up for an adaptation won't necessarily be their favorite (and you have Hagure Metabo who put the MC of their first Web Novel in their Light Novel... and the character is added in such a good way that you can't guess it's a MC of an other story).
Speaking of which, Hagure Metabo's Light Novel has an anime adaptation this summer. I'd suggest you to check A livid lady's guide to getting even, the quality of writing is above many Light Novels (especially with the protagonist).

Stuff that started as LNs from the get go have their share of bad but they go traditional publishing route aka pitches and 50/50 chance of being rejected and it requiring some writing experience
Hence why before the medium was known for good stuff like Haruhi,Durarara,Toradora,Baccano,Monogatari,Full Metal Panic,Slice and Wolf and many more
But web novels existed for a bit and were on sites like Narou that I best describe as the Japanese version of Fanfiction
Only thing required is an internet connection and anyone could write on it
In it's own bubble I don't mind the existence of it
However with the anime adaptations of Log Horizon and Mahouka which were from those sites , the floodgates were open one could say since afterwards companies realized they could spam out LNs,Manga and Anime of these internet stories platforms since it's all in one place really and the it was an endless abyss all of these sites are
The not so great summary section of sites like Narou which made it's users use the title as one should've been gone by now too but since no gives a damn of what gets adapted from there and a non existent editorial since these stories to get adaptations in the first place
They were just kept as is even tho prior they'd been rejected on the spot
They'd been rejected too because of the fact it's amateur writing on full display as an official publication and it blending in too much with each other and that's coming from me who hates similarity as a critique
There was bad stuff before but these amateur stories are all imo just become too samey and uninteresting especially with them slapping Isekai in the title and the isekai being a fantasy setting instead of the fact that isekai just means another world which should open up endless possibilities
There's no quality control like at all and it's tarnishing the name of both Light Novels and even sometimes anime at this point cause of the nonexistent barrier to entry these WNs have

I'm excited the most for Clevatess II. About other shows from this season... Hmm, objectively speaking Summer 2026 will be really stacked with awesome anime, but speaking totally subjectively, I will watch Clevatess II only, lol.
