'Neko to Ryuu' Reveals Additional Cast, Theme Songs, Second Promo
The official website for the television anime adaptation of Amara's Neko to Ryuu (The Cat and the Dragon) light novel revealed additional cast, theme songs, key visual (pictured above) and second promotional video on Friday. The anime will premiere on Tokyo MX at 9:00 p.m. on July 4, followed by broadcasts on BS NTV and Yomiuri TV.
CastGreater Daemon: Hinata Tadokoro (Champignon no Majo)
Mosha-mosha IV: Youji Ueda (Toujima Tanzaburou wa Kamen Rider ni Naritai)
Mikemike: Saho Shirasu (Apocalypse Hotel)
Monaruka: Natsuki Hanae (Eris no Seihai)
Pompora: Tomohisa Asou (Zutaboro Reijou wa Ane no Moto Konyakusha ni Dekiai sareru)
Singer-songwriter suis (Tongari Boushi no Atelier) is performing the opening theme "Nekohi," while shallm (Himesama "Goumon" no Jikan desu) is performing the ending theme "Tadaima no Basho." Both are previewed in the promotional video below.
Jin-Gu Oh (Ooi! Tonbo) is helming the anime at OLM. Mitsutaka Hirota (Kanojo, Okarishimasu) is handling the series composition. Chiaki Kurakazu (Pokemon (2023) animation director) and Rie Nishino (Nanatsu no Taizai: Kamigami no Gekirin) are designing the characters, while Takahiro Obata (Yakusoku no Neverland) is composing the music.
Amara began serializing the fantasy light novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in September 2013. Takarajimasha began publishing the light novel in April 2016, with illustrations by Mai Okuma. The ninth volume was released in November 2025.
A manga adaptation by Izumi Sasaki began serializing on the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! Web in September 2017. The 12th volume was released in November 2025, and the 13th volume will be released on July 17.
