Just click on pdf or epub and wait a little bit. It's a single file with the entire translation.
You could also go to one of these sites:
https://novelfull.com/release-that-witch.html
or
https://novelbin.me/novel-book/release-that-witch#tab-chapters-title
You can't download files there, but you can read the novel chapter by chapter if you want.
hehe.. in case ye wondering how I spotted your sniping spot.. well it's from.. Asako Chapter 34 Forum Discussion
And indeed, it does improve after what I would call "a rough start", but that was only meant as a preliminary review.
It is "structurally different": In a way, we already start the story "in the middle of action" without introducing much about the ayakashi/youkai, they're kinda introduced as the story goes on. The start of it feels very disjointed, though later on we kinda see how those parts fit together. I wish we got to see more about Matsunosuke, though it's a book series that's been running for more than two decades, I sure we get to see more of him in the future books.
I guess my biggest complaint would be how Ichitarou just figures out the thing about the line being a failed-tsugumogami possessing people with barely any information, in a way the audience couldn't have figured it out, kinda reminds me of that one Sherlock 4chan post. I did feel that the ending seemed a bit rushed, though.
You commented on my After the Rain review four years ago lol. I really appreciated your comment my page has gone dormant because I have other life demands but I will try to be more active in the future.
To jog your memory your comment essentially said that my review essentially ruined your enjoyment of the show and that was not my intention. Art is completely subjective at the end of the day and what appealed to me at 12 is very different than what appeals to me now. I think the most important thing is to analyze what specifically about the art appealed to you and to express that. When I made that review I was just in critique mode and wasn't giving full credit to the nuances of the show. It is decently written, and I don't think my review then would reflect my feelings now.
