Synopsis

In the 2nd year of the Enka era, a scientist has invented Myther, a device designed to create the ideal personality. With it, people can become their ideal selves and break away from their weak selves. However, below the surface, Myther Crime—a hidden social issue—has emerged, in which those who abuse Myther suffer from mental collapse and carry out horrific acts of violence. Kyou, a member of the Special Intelligence Agency, directly controlled by the Japanese authorities, works in secret to fight these crimes. All for the sake of loyalty to the authorities...

This is a hidden gem among newly releasing manga. The myther opens up an interesting conversation about addiction and allows the readers to understand the reasoning as to why people become addicts.

Yuri originally created this device as a tool to treat mental health in controlled spaces by allowing the user to become their ideal selves. However as the device becomes increasingly popular its control slips through his fingers and more and more illegal users appear. People get addicted to this ‘self’ that allows them to be who the’ve always wanted, eventually succumbing and losing their minds
