the criticisms are fair: there is not much character development, the MC is viewed as invincible since the show can't go on without them so stakes are lower than they could be (at least until series finale potentially), and it's basically a parody on historical events that some find offense to
however, we should also look at what the good parts of this show are. The fun edgy fight scenes, the dark comedy, the amusing eccentricity of the MC as a little girl on the frontlines of war. It's ultimately a military power fantasy show about an underdog that you watch somehow overcome all their problems.

originally, i thought this show was a hentai. it looks like a hentai with the art/animation quality. I watched a few episodes but it was a very difficult watch and there is nothing really interesting going on story wise either. The story basically could be the same as a hentai if you think about it too. It's a very simple show and also very unrealistic. It also promotes unhealthy habits like smoking and staying up late so I hope it's not kids watching this. show is so repetitive and also a bit nasty. the jokes don't land most of the time. all characters are super static and stereotypical. After an episode or two, you get tired of seeing the characters because they don't do anything different. It's like seeing a comedian repeat the same joke everytime you see their face - you might smile the first time but it just gets boring after the 10th time in a row seeing and hearing the same thing.
The main character is a cat that smokes. that's literally it. It follows her addiction and also her freaked out friends with other types ...

It is a super basic show. Some fun but short fight scenes. No character development. MC just wants revenge the most notable and somewhat enjoyable part of this show were a few fight scenes near the end. The actual revenge scenes are not only drawn out but so unsatisfying and disappointing. The revenge and motivation is only for the MC but the side characters/summons are so empty and undeveloped - their only goal is to fulfill the wishes of the MC who has no motivation other than "getting revenge". It was truly cinema. Chainsaw man is a story that is very suitable for theatrical release. It felt like watching a Tarantino film but as an anime.
I watched in IMAX in tokyo last month, and 4DX + 3D in america recently. The 3D experience is not that special, as there is not much special 3D effects. But 4DX was really fun. The Reze 'bathwater' was great immersion. There is a lot of rain and mist throughout the movie and the sound quality is great. It was like you were there seeing Reze butt naked teaching you to swim. If you are not a fan of project sekai, the movie is not going to be very interesting. Even if you are, there are dozens of characters so it only covers them at a very surface level. The plot is very simple and lacks much depth. The ending is just a few short songs from each group you can wave a penlight around for, about 10 minutes.
It is an interesting experience to visit a theater for due to the crowd, but would not watch alone at home. The animation is good. The music (very short segment) is good. The story is lacking and characters ...

Solid ani-movie. Good action scenes and visuals. The animation feels a bit better than recent seasons. Some jarring CG still for large crowds. Several "skipped" fight scenes (understandably unimportant). Story wise it works well as a movie as it flows well, is directed well, and wraps up cleanly with a short cute after credit scene.
The new characters introduced are pretty cool. Solid development for some existing characters. I watched in imax and the experience is not much better audio-wise. This isn't a great "surround sound" experience like normal films, but that is expected. Enjoyment-wise there are many episodes in the tv series that i enjoyed a lot ...

Time travel and thriller. This series is very similar. But does not make me feel the same. It was just too predictable. Full of cliche, not even executed well. We did not care for the characters. They are too simple and forgettable. There is no psychological element to this show, and I think that is the biggest miss for a "time travel thriller" series that the 3 series above executed well. The weakest fights the strongest
This is the trope of this series, and it is enjoyable to watch. Like most action series, the story evolves into dealing with bigger and stronger villains/issues. But, the MC does not get any stronger. So it does have that charm. However, the recent chapters are a complete mess.
