Update 05/10/2026:
I've been having great results for this season's Fantasy Anime League! I started out ranked 47th for the first week, jumped up to rank 15th on week 5 and now I have reached the highest rank In my history of playing FAL which is 5th overall. I now have a good feeling that I may finish within the top 100 for this season. I'll only need to wait for Marriage Toxin to reach the 60,000 users watching threshold then I will be able to ace my remaining titles and finish with a good score. To celebrate my personal best I will update my MAL wallpaper to reflect this result.

04/04/26:
Fantasy anime league is back, after 1 season of hiatus. This will give me more reasons to keep coming back to MAL every couple of days. I think I picked a great line up this week which includes Dr Stone, Wistoria, Ramparts of Ice, Akane Banashi, Demons of the Shadow Realm, most of these are well anticipated and the new shows are highly regarded too. I'm looking forward to watching Ramparts of Ice to see if I'll find the same good writing from Seihantai last season.

Aside from that, MAL's annual easter egg hunt is back online too. If last years performance is an accurate predictor then I my chances of getting a badge is slim. Lol, but it seems fun and will still give it an honest try. I also just finished 86. This series is pretty good, not enough Lena during the second season though. The last 2 episodes are really memorable, especially when Lena walked up to Shin's mobile unit in the field of red flowers which served as my background right now. That reunion at the last episode is also a fitting end. For me, the series ended well a third season will just not be as good as the first two.

02/16/2026:
I'm currently enjoying this winter season's anime line up. Frieren and Chained Soldier is back, a bunch of new shows has popped up and taken away my attention too. One of them is You and Me are Polar Opposite's. This show earned the spot for my profile background this month. I've been eagerly awaiting it's episode premier every Sunday and probably watched each episode at least twice. As for Manga, I'm still reading Vagabond currently at Volume 5. The next Chapter features Musashi's duel with the wielder of the chain and sickle. That should be an amazing fight. The illustration for this manga is just superb. If this will get an adaptation in the future, I'm hoping that a talented studio will get the project.

I've been watching j-animation since the 90's but needed to pause the habit back in the late aughts. I needed to get my life on track first. Recently jumped into it again after finding stability and rediscovered how fun watching "slice of life" shows are. Some earlier favs from the 20th century are: Slam Dunk, Robotech, You're Under Arrest, BT-X, Lupin the 3rd, Fushigi Yuugi are a few that I can name at the top of my head.

When I'm not on MAL, I usually lurk on reddit. Mostly on r/chess, r/anime, r/nba, or r/running. Aside from playing chess on chess.com I also play some Balatro offline. IRL, I get paid to help elderly people walk, and help prevent them from falling. Other hobbies of mine includes running, hiking, playing chess and reading some Seinen Manga. I'm currently reading Vagabond volume 4. Speaking of which, I made the conscious decision to read seinen manga instead of shonen. I'll just wait the latter to be adapted instead.
