A wonderful manga about adventure, action, and progression: "The Exiled Heavy Knight Knows How to Game the System"
Although the title sounds gimmicky, the story itself is serious. As in, it has a vision and executes it in a neat way, never abandoning itself original premise!
The best thing it does, in my opinion, is it balances the protagonist's power level in a satisfying way. Yes, he's a little overpowered, but he gets there through actual effort by communicating well with his friends and using his game knowledge like an expert would if he got isekai'd.
Plus, there's always someone/something stronger than him. So, the story

never dulls since he's often reliant on his friends to 'win' in various ways. The antagonists and side characters are fairly interesting in of themselves because their personalities have layers to them beyond 2D tropes.
The art isn't the greatest, but it conveys all it needs to in a good manner. Sometimes, the angles are interesting and fantastic. And there's also a sense of motion in every action scene that resemble a proper video game or anime moment.
Overall, it's the chemistry between characters, their progression, and the game-inspired action scenes which genuinely make this story stand-out from its other peers in generic fantasy-RPG-like settings.

I liked it because:
The characters are intuitive and interesting. A few of them are unique too (imo). Moreover, they possess logic and reasonable motives.
Our protagonist is refreshing compared to teenagers. He's a 21-year-old college student with an average red-panda looking face.
The usage of tropes is balanced and tasteful. The references to pop culture are also subtle.
The setting is immersive. It's low fantasy with urban and folk elements. And, it's very informative about various Japanese supernatural beliefs/ideas without overbearing the viewer too much (since the world still felt properly modern).
The use of artistic design for storytelling was done well. And although the art style

isn't amazing, it's nevertheless distinctive, consistent, and lends well to animation.
There was always a tiny hint of mystery that kept the show alive underneath a dynamic series of interactions between compelling characters.
Overall, the comedy and supernatural tones blend very well together throughout the show. It felt like a playful dance.

Yaeko Kirihara is a cute gamer girl. I'm jealous.

Proper isekai 6.5/10
-A standard protagonist who consciously reacts to a fantasy world.
--The Protagonist actively seeks to experience new things in another world, which contrasts his previously mundane lifestyle on Earth. This desire is what leads the pacing of his slice-of-life story.
---The Protagonist goes on mini-adventures often
----Good Fantasy MUSIC, sometimes very immersive
-----Nice Fantasy elements (although somewhat generic, they aren't shallow and are sometimes 'unique'.)

If you dislike annoying 'cute' pokemon type characters, you might dislike one crucial side character. I didn't find them annoying though.

This show focuses on imperial politics and management. It isn't exactly a 'city/kingdom builder,' but it's something along those lines. As far as i can tell, it's not a harem show nor is it a comedy (though it slightly has those elements).
It simply puts an overpowered protagonist in the role of an imperial prince and focuses on that.
Flaws:
-Isekai protagonist has little to no backstory and the 'isekai' part is largely irrelevant
-Usual stiff animation for a 'low-budget' light novel adaptation
-MC consistently wins/succeeds/progresses (though not always)
-Unrealistic and overpowered child 'somehow' beating up and outsmarting many adults
-The show progresses like a documentary, but its narration is
...
generally 1st person (not necessarily a bad thing, just a different type of pacing which means less character development)
Positive:
-Power Fantasy
6 year old kid? Overpowered items? Obligatory stats screen? Making plans like he's Oberstein from LOGH? Casually tossing money to solve his problems like any 'good' noble should? Ehhh, why not!
This is the type of show you don't take seriously. And every now and again, it surprises you with a sprinkle of interesting stuff that you may not have seen before in other similar stories.
So yeah, just know that this anime is unapologetic about what it is and what it's trying to do. And I think it succeeds in its pursuit.
If you like medieval/fantasy politics and an overpowered MC, then you'll surely appreciate this type of show.

Very good isekai anime. Specifically, as an isekai anime.
Others may have been tricked by the above-average animation (at times) and the lack of a female harem, but do not be fooled. This is a generic medieval-fantasy isekai... just done right.
The animation quality is not consistent and it's obvious when/where the studio decided to be cheap and when they decided to splurge on the animation. And, I believe they did it tactfully.
The voice acting good, not super amazing but good. The characters sound appropriate to who they are and I want to give props to the MC perfectly embodying a japanese guy who
...
has adapted to his new isekai environment.
While the MC may seem generic, he actually has some personality. You may not actually like him as a person, but he indeed has an aloof personality befitting an overpowered person who knows they are an overpowered protagonist in another world.
The best thing about this show isn't the main plot, not that I know what that exactly is. The best thing is instead the vibes and journey of Ryou as a person living out their 'slow life' in another world. Of course, as is the case in most isekai, the 'slow life' gets interrupted sometimes, but not frequently.
The vibes and aesthetic of the show, supported by majestic background music and background art, is what makes this isekai a recommendation by me. It has enough action, it has enough story, and its side characters are dynamic and alive enough that journeying through this otherworld with Ryou makes it a pleasant journey.

If you like fantasy shows with spell-casting, an overpowered MC, villainess characters, otome style academies, or your occasional bochi the rocks, then you'll surely enjoy this anime!
In my humble opinion, this anime alone is better than any other villainess+otome+isekai... EVEN THOUGH, this is NONE of those things!
Why? Simply because it does EVERYTHING better aside from the gimmick of reincarnation, male harem, or the MC pretending to be a 'villain.'
-Art style/Animation is almost always consistently amazing throughout the entire show.
-The story is engaging and is intriguing from episode 1.
-Characters are vibrant and some are very dynamic. Moreover, their motives and developments make

sense.
-Monica (the MC) is very cute and relatable for people with extreme social anxiety, and, she has a good backstory.
-Audio design and music is absolutely brilliant and wonderfully compatible with every other aspect of the show.
-Neko (cat boy) and Rynz (wind spirit) are wonderful supporting characters that are always a joy to see.
Personally I rate this 10/10 because for what it's attempting to do, it does it extremely well and competently. Objectively, this show is more like an 8/10.

Undervalued, underappreciated, and... under-understood?
This is not isekai trash. I repeat, this is not isekai trash!
So far, the show is competent and consistent. The visuals are charming and the animation is pretty good! I think it's fairly funny, lighthearted, and masterfully serious at times.
Oh, and by the way... It's so refreshing to see an ugly main character!!! I don't even know when was the last time I watched an anime with an ugly MC. [actually I do: isekai ojisan. But spoilers... Ojisan's secretly handsome[See episode 11]]

telling me that this dude's supposed to be -255 in attractiveness level? Nah, dude's more like -50. Thankfully, there's this one old guy who's even uglier, and another guy who's super-duper ugly on the inside (metaphorically.) Compared to those two bozos, our MC is objectively an angel.
Additionally, I really appreciate how well the show plays into the whole isekai element. Aside from the MC, many other depressed individuals got isekai'd for various reasons. And each one of them had an opportunity to write up a 'special note' to provide them a unique skill or attribute. This is a pretty neat 'magic system' because it means that even though our MC is OP, there's always a mystery when it comes to meeting new people.
So, if you're on the fence, please give this show a try. It deserves it!

How the heck is this below a 6/10?
This an enjoyable medieval-fantasy anime. A good kind of generic, a kind that knows its own path and style while not outstaying its welcome. Moreover, it's a breathe of fresh air for a (relatively) recent anime that takes itself seriously amidst a sea of egregiously generic isekai and 'fantasy'.
No idea about the game, but I recommend this show for the following reasons:
-It consistently has 'good' 2d combat animation (there is bad 3d parts but they are tolerable.)
-The narrative REALLY felt like I was playing a classic JRPG adventure
-There are many characters, all with their own
...
motives, who received an appropriate amount of character development and backstory in respect to their relevance to the plot.
-It successfully blends an immersive low-fantasy setting with high-fantasy elements (like dragons, undead, werewolves, etc.)
-Protagonists are not OP, it truly is a 'team effort' adventure where the power of friendship (generally) makes plausible sense.
-Although the soundtrack is somewhat forgettable, it still manages to hit all the right notes to evoke an appropriate feeling for the viewer (like: adventure!!! mystery? sadness...)
-Good character design and art style. Characters are appealing to look at, while not being too outlandishly 'plastic.'
To be fair, a 5/10 (average) is technically the appropriate score that this anime may fall into currently, depending on your opinion. However, compared to many 6/10 shows on MAL, this anime certainly has superior animation, audio design, and a more coherent plot!
Warning! Do not expect a complete ending. IMO it was a satisfying conclusion, however, it was also a big cliff hanger.

Currently there are like 6 people not recommending this show and 0 people recommending it. So, I have bestowed myself the duty of recommending it.
Quick review: Standard cartoon. Sometimes boring. Sometimes dumb. But it has some unique charm, like in the setting design and the 2-dimensional developments between the characters. I like blue haired girl, she is a cute martial artist lady, and the MC is alright. If you are alright with low expectations, enjoy a fantasy show that could've been made in the 2000s.
As far as I can tell, 'Objectively,' this show doesn't have good animation nor is it amazing in
...
any way. . However, there are a few STRONG qualities that the show has, in my opinion.
1. It's a different kind of generic.
To give you an idea, this could've easily been an isekai where the isekai part wouldn't have mattered. It's thaaat type of show. A fantasy with some slice of life, some adventure, and some action. The world/fighting mechanics are a bit game-like.
And although the show uses many common conventions, tropes, etc. it manages to build itself into a 'unique form of generic.'
EXAMPLE: The design of the town, the main location, is pleasant to look at. It's by no means ground breaking, but it has a CHARM.
Most buildings have white plastered walls and blue rooftops. Odd white pillars surround the town and nobody knows what they are. The Adventures Guild building looks like it's based on a historical church. And the inn that the protagonist and the heroine stay at isn't like any other inn I've seen in anime. Moreover, it's a place I would like to sleep/eat at in real life. It has a small yet neat outdoor area that's beautiful at night. I like the inn in particular because it regularly shows up in the show, and the more I see it, the more I get attached to it.
2. Solid Cartoon.
It isn't a wacky cartoon, nor is it a pseudo-serious show. It's simply a fantasy show that you could've watched in the 2000s, 2010s, or now in the 2020s. The characters are more or less 2 dimensional, so that means you won't find anything inspirational or new from this show (probably). But these characters fit their roles well and have just enough personality, emotional reactions, and facial designs that help make them memorable and maybe charming.
But like in many generic fantasy shows, be WARNED that there are some stupid moments, dumb characters, etc. This show has that. But it isn't dumb enough that makes me want to drop it, and sometimes, the show even acknowledges/justifies the dumbness of certain characters or their actions.
I like the sound design. It isn't amazing or memorable, but it serves the 'Adventurer Town' setting well. And I feel like I am playing or inside an RPG while watching this show. This includes even the little ambient sounds like crickets at night or people at an inn drinking. Perhaps this show even boosted the ambient sound a little more than other shows, and I think it was the right decision.
IN CONCLUSION:
This is all to say that watching the same characters interact regularly with one another, in the same persistent setting, has a certain charm to it. It helps make the entire experience 'ALIVE.' In the sense that, the town is 'lived in.' And although the plot feels a bit directionless sometimes, I understand what each character generally wants in their life.
Plus I really like the blue haired girl and her relationship with the MC. The MC is indeed kind of generic, but a tolerable and slightly unique form of generic (like the town itself), which makes me like him. He has some personality (admittedly not a lot), and the way he 'hides his emotions/thoughts' is a little intriguing despite also seemingly boring.
(Look, I just appreciate that his hair is a little wacky compared to his clones in hundreds of other shows and he has a quirky side kick with him)
So, if you watch this show with low expectations, the overall experience will probably be 'alright' for you. Which is sometimes good enough when you're feeling cozy, not in a hurry, and want an easy/lazy watching experience. 6/10 (But personally, 7/10)

This is like "Welcome to the NHK" but without Hikikomoris and it's set in high school.
If you have time to spare and you... like slice of life, like video game development, like mundane settings that are realistic with a somewhat realistic cast of characters... then you'll probably enjoy this show! Especially if you don't take it too seriously and don't have high expectations (like expecting a detailed run-down of bishoujo game development).
The characters aren't super complex and they might be somewhat cringe, but they do their job and are believable.
Some scenes, like with the run-on-joke about how '3D girls suck and normie
...
couples suck!', may fall flat... but I liked them.
The show is consistent and grounded, and I liked that. You get to immerse yourself as part of the MC's friend group.
(Btw I liked the MC's fairly outgoing personality and I think Yuuka is best girl!)
