This show is funny in that it get's a lot of hate from the anti-fascist crowd, and has an incredible amount of hype. And to be honest, it doesn't really deserve either of these. Ignoring the Nazi allegations(they are indeed false) what people need to remember, is that this is fundamentally a low effort Isekai. Sure, it has a very unique premise and world, and sure there's some flashy fights, but this show doesn't have a lot of depth.

read the manga, LN, and web novel for this, and can pretty confidently tell you this is not the direct equivalent of Nazi Germany some people feel it is and hate it for. If this was a propaganda piece for Nazi's I could understand getting butthurt about it, but its really not. This show is also able to officially air in Germany, and if there was anything remotely pro fascist about it, than this show wouldn't have a snowballs chance in hell to be able to air there lol. It's pretty clear through the actions of characters in the show, as well as what the author has said, that the Empire is analogous with ww1 Germany, stuck in the position of ww2 Germany. If you disagree, notice we have General 'Rudersdorf', who is almost certainly the equivalent of General Ludendorff(see the naming similarities?), who served on the Imperial German Army's Supreme Army Command(similar position). Additionally, notice the lack of mass murder, dictators, or fanatical SS units? Instead we have an Imperial family, interior lines strategy(ww1 tactics), ww1 generals, the Legadonia 'Entente Alliance'(bruh they literally managed to fit the entente in here), and trench warfare. Most definitely not the ww2 political equivalent. Then again, they get stuck in ww2 wars(and have Rommel lol) which is how the casual observer seems to be able to identify Nazi Germany as Nazi Germany, sidestepping literally everything that actually made the Nazi's, Nazi's.
THE GOOD
As for my enjoyment? I actually liked this, and i am probably biased because fantasy military anime with a charming touch of geopolitics is right up my alley, nerd alert, but I feel there's a lot to like here. First off, the premise is really unique. We haven't seen any mainstream anime's try to deal with ww2 in decades, and this one adds isekai, genderbender, god, and capitalist simping to the mix. Its kinda fun. Also the MC is straight up psychotic which is also cool. His/her? backstory is being sociopathic HR guy who gets killed for being an asshole, doesn't realize it, then gets turned into a little girl and sent to ww2 for then being an asshole to god and still not noticing? Actually sounds hilarious.
Additionally, i think the show IS kinda funny, like it isn't a comedy by any means, but it does manage to incorporate dark humor and absurd humor which both work in this situation.
Additionally, and this is gonna sound like a nitpick, but it actually manages to keep all the mains and sides acting like their contextually supposed to. A lot of show's have their author's thoughts and values bleed over into their characters, making them do, say, and think stuff which doesn't really align with the situation their in, and this show manages to avoid a lot of that self insert, for which i'm really glad.
THE MIXED
As for the actual content of the show? It is straight up ripped from the LN. Which is good in that it follows the source material, but it does feel like copied homework without any original interpretation; and it's not even adapted all that well. If you ever feel like the pace is weird sometimes or the bits between episodes is jarring, then this is it. I can't imagine any of the budget went into story. On a side note, this is why i feel confident doing a review while only halfway through, i highly doubt their going to pull some insane trick out of their hat while moving like this lol. The only unique bit is the exact timing of when Mary Sue is annoying, and even then, that's not all that impressive. In the Web novel, the LN, and Manga she show's up at different times so it seems they were forced to just say 'screw it'
THE UGLY
Now I'll still continue to like this because I like specific things and enjoyed it for the reasons above, but I'm not exactly sure I can recommend this to anyone because of how flat the characters are. Other than Tanya being a sociopathic HR guy, everyone else has next to 0 backstory, nobody changes at all except to get better at fighting, and nobody seems to have realistic human problems/emotions/development to talk about. There is nothing in the personal lives of these characters that's going to keep me pondering past their time on the screen. Which is a real shame as characters are some of THE most important parts of a story, they are literally the main device for keeping you engaged with the story. Honestly this is quite tragic.
The story itself, beyond ww2 countries invade each other rahhh, is kinda flat. For most people, braindead watching something in the background while they try to forget their day or do homework, this is great, for everyone else, you might have a problem. If you push it, you can see commentary on Concorde syndrome and Germany historically, or the dangers of overspecializing and being blind to alternative points of view, maybe even something about capitalism/communism, but really, this story doesn't have much of a theme. If you're watching, your here for germans and soviets killing each other, and maybe even loli's if you're weird.

This show is undoubtedly a masterpiece in its own way, its rich in character building, world building, plot, and so much more, there's quite a lot going on here, and its honestly on a whole different scale then many other shows avant grande style, buuttt, it has somewhat of a unique problem in that it starts off really strong, but degenerates into just plot. Like by episode 80 and especially 90 the show is such a drag, its just plot battles and plot intrigue and the animators appear to not know how to create suspense and tension any more, and it ends out as super

boring. Like this show is so weird in that it excels in many of the areas most shows are weak in and has the makings of something remarkable, its quite amazing at the beginning to, but that its a little unwatchable because of just how untensioned it becomes.
Overall:
Plot is peak 10/10
characters are complex with a variety of different emotions and perspectives that tear at them and are quite relatable and understandable 9/10
sound is aight
graphics are kinda bad but its from the 1980/90s so idk what one expects.
Theres quite a lot of other stuff that's either aight or good like editing or design, what really kills this is lack of tension and it fails to keep the same quality all the way through. If you watch, be prepared for a long haul

Forgive me for I review harshly, but this has the depth of a reel. If you want to just turn your brain off and watch something with a plot that's shallower then the average hentai, here you go, this is the anime your looking for.
In all seriousness though, this anime was a cool concept, a guy gets merked by a dragon and comes back to life as a skeleton when all the adventurers want to kill him. However this reeks of something that either wasn't thought all the way through by the writer or got rushed out by the production studio.
Besides having odd classical music

they ripped off something else and a terrible low detail, very basic, characters and minimal camera angles and shading, this show lacks any meaningful elements. After dying, brother immediately figures out he needs to kill monsters to upgrade and starts collecting monster parts to turn into cash for later use, turning this into every other guild/fantasy looking isekai ever, and he spends so much time narrating himself. For example he talks about how awful it is a skeleton and how he was bullied for not being a good adventurer, however that isn't illustrated anywhere in the first few episodes, which is quite boring, its mostly just monologue because there's a lack of good animation, and its a little hard to believe since he's literally stronger as a ghoul/skeleton.
Another thing, the anime tries to say he's weaker as a skeleton because he lacks muscles and all that, which sounds legit, then he murders a couple other skeletons and suddenly he's much stronger then he was as a human, which isn't explained very well. Why is being dead better for leveling up? No idea. He spends 20 years training and has struggled to get where he's at as a human, then it just overwrites it and makes it seem useless by leveling him up in a day as a skeleton, and then the continues with the random powerups. Its pretty clear by following where the plot is going that he will become as strong as a mithril class adventurer and just troll people by looking weak but being strong.
Also the characters, aren't anything unique. Besides lacking an interesting look to them, they also act like every other isekai character ever, despite this not being an isekai per se. Our mc literally manages to convince some young women in a gave, as a creepy ass corpse, that he's actually a good guy and she should follow him around and do what he says, in about 2 seconds, removing any sense of struggle and making the human recoil against watching a creepy corpse come at you somewhat of a joke.
There also isn't any tension in the show, there's nominally the problem that he's a corpse, but they don't lean into it or elaborate on how its a problem at all, and then he just starts doing his own stuff. Which, if one can see where this is eventually going, aka he becomes a vampire that's crazy op, it means this show lacks an effective central problem the characters need to work towards.
Overall, the plot lacks some of the most basic, well established elements of plot, making this show almost indistinguishable from any other random isekai. The animation is rudimentary, there's nothing interesting in the sound, lighting or angles. The characters feel as basic, if not more so, then someone like Kirito or Sung jin woo, and much of the information of the anime is relayed via ineffective 4th wall breaks that make the show quite boring to watch.
Personally I'd rate this a 2 but for most people this is likely a 3. Just don't expect this to be much more then background noise.

Ya'll hate on this anime way too hard, sure it has some issues, but overall its pretty good and worth the watch.
There are two things that seem to bug watchers. First, the most glaring problem for most watchers is glimpsing the 10/10 master piece this show looked like it was shaping up to in the first 2-3 episodes, but then gets fumbled as the show continues, and 2nd is the lack of a Manga. 7/10 show
This is arguably the most important part that I care about and has a few pieces to it. This show is undeniably unique in special in the way it phenomenal

way it handles the music and characters of Takt and Destiny, it is so good. And the character designs are really good. Music is a super big part of this show and it is quite masterfully woven into the show to both enhance and deepen the experience, in fact the music by itself is good enough to listen to on its own. The Characters of Takt and Destiny are also so detailed, relatable and deep, and both experience tangible change throughout the show. Also the character design of everyone in this anime is amazing, especially Destiny but everyone is quite unique and interesting.
However this anime lacks any sort of vision and that is the biggest downfall of this show. Its pretty obvious based off the terrible villains, weird pacing, and unknown direction of the show that there isn't a real vision here. Theres no manga to draw from so the publishers had to come up with it themselves and its quite obvious they don't quite know what they want despite the cool premise idea. What this translates into is awful villains that lack any depth or meaning, and honestly we don't even understand what they're trying to accomplish. The pacing is also so out of wack, the first 3 episodes have very fast engaging action style pacing like one would expect out of Psycho-Pass or HunterxHunter, but then switchs up into a slice of life stand alone episode feel like Cowboy bebop then switchs again for the final arc. Its quite off putting. And finally, what the hell is this show even supposed to be? Its hard to decide if this was meant to be an episodic vibey trip across America, a succinct, fast paced epic quest to save the world, or the emotional and deep bid to save Takt and Destiny from their terrible fate and/or potentially bring Cossette back.
Then there's the 2nd point that a lot of people seem to have a problem with, the lack of a manga and corporate involvement in this anime. To be clear, very few people care that there isn't a manga, the problem is that its obvious the show was made by a company for the sole purpose of making money off the fans, the shows lack of vision coupled with amazing graphics and sound from big name companies doesn't help that either. To see a really good and entertaining example of what I'm talking about go read the comment by 'SingleH'
But to be honest, I could care less. Sure some companies invented a new anime out of thin air to make money, but hey, if a shows good its good. At the end of the day, most manga, and most things in this world were made for the sole purpose to benefit the creator. What matters to me is how much I enjoyed it.
Overall all, amazing anime in so many ways, but suffers from some quite glaring issues that are hard to overlook.

Soundtrack .5/.5: One of the major unique points of this show is how involved and amazing the music is. Its truly a feast for the ears that's good enough to listen to independently of the show.
Music use.5/.5: They know when and how to use the music to increase the experience and enhance it.
Editing .6/1-
Pacing .2/.5 : For the first 3 episodes the pacing is amazing and really helps to keep the watcher engaged and in suspense. However past episode 3 the pacing entirely switch to a slower slice of life pace until it switch again for the final arc. Definitely off-putting and one of the bigger problems this show had.
Production quality .4/.5: Not just the super bright and plain isekai style. Quite clean. Not as original as it could be
Plot .8/1-
Story arc .4/.5: The writers understand how to make a story arc, nothing too crazy.
Plausibility .4/.5: Remember plausibility is not rationality. The show is plausible throughout and there's not any points in the show where a breach of the internal logic will jolt one out of the experience. There are a few times when I feel the characters are a bit dumb for failing to notice or do something. Biggest breach of this would be in the Orpheus battle scene when she lets Orpheus regenerate

Identity .1/5: Not necessary to make a great show, but its necessary to make a show a masterpiece.

Character Identity .3/.5: Disregarding all the side characters who are all varying degrees of mid-ness meant to just enhance the mains. Takt and Destiny have phenomenal character builds. The big downfall of this shows characters are the villains. There is literally nothing to these villains and its actually noticeable enough that it even bugs one while watching the show. We don't understand what the villains why the villains do what they do, there is an attempt made however, we don't really get the villains personality because there is little depth, and we don't even know what the villains are actually trying to accomplish.
Performance .4/.5: Both are quite relatable, grow, change, do people stuff and are quite good. The exception to this are the villains
Dialogue .7/1-
Storytelling .3/.5: This show does a pretty good job at having meaningful dialogue that contributes to the viewers understanding of the plot, world, and characters as opposed to some that just have useless stupid dialogue.
Context .4/.5: Everything fits in the world like its supposed to. What the characters say makes sense and sticks true to the world they live in.
Cinematography .9/1-
Shots .4/.5: This show makes good use of shots to create better action sequences and watchable pieces. Best example of this is the battle sequence in episode 3.
Creativeness .5/.5: The character outfits and design are top tier. The fact that anyone can call destiny waifu bait without sexualizing her means the designers get an A+ for this.
Directing .6/1 -
Vision .1/.5: Vision is what the directer or architect wants the audience to see in the show. And this is really the overall downfall of Takt op Destiny, nothing else in my opinion. Whoever made this show wasn't sure what they were trying to create. They had all the talent and resources needed to make this show excel, but weren't sure what it should look like. The sudden jarring switch between fast action pieces and a fast engaging pacing in the first 3 episodes to the sudden slow slice of life switch in the middle is clear evidence of that. What was this show even supposed to be? A Cowboy bebop style story that follows their trip across America? An action piece about saving the world? Or something else?
Execution .5/.5: Theres nothing wrong with the execution of the directing, its pretty good for what its trying to do.
Unique epic ness of the story .7/1-
Unique .5.5: No doubt about it
The it factor .2/.5: That unexplainable feeling that something is amazing and makes a thrill run up your spine that leaves you feeling emotions after watching it and makes one genuinely think about their own life.
