Bleach: Sennen Kessen-hen - Kashin-tan

There will never ever ever EVER be another show that will ever be created in he history of the universe that will ever be better than BLEACH.

This is not a biased bs opinion because i love this show. This is an actual fact and can not and will never be disproven.

I dont even know where to begin with this show. I have fallen in love with bleach from the moment i began watching it, and it has gotten better every episode. The creativity, the power scaling, the character development, the style, everything about this show is an absolute masterpiece. Tite Kubo should be elected ... leader of Japan. The most generational story writer/producer the anime genre has ever seen.


OH MY FUCKING GOD I CANT FUCKING WAIT ANOTHER WEEK FOR THIS SHIT I NEED IT NOW

The original Bleach ended when I was 17 years old, and I watched it when I was in my early 20s with a friend.
It was fantastic and I ended up sharing my friend's love for the series, patiently awaiting its return.

I'm now 31 years old, and although I have enjoyed the first parts of "Thousand-Year Blood War", I am starting to lose my enthusiasm in this final (?) section.
Yes, it was obvious that the final showdown with Ywach and the Quincies was going to be spread-out over these ~10 episodes, but man, it's a slog already by Episode 6.

It feels like I'm watching ... Dragonball, where we have a single main fight that is drawn-out for far too long over far too many episodes, with there being an ass-pull power-up every 5 minutes from every character involved.

Ichigo is now on his 6th different Bankai/form or whatever, thanks to his training from the previous sections, which is seemingly looking like it's more powerful than his dark "Mugetsu" form he had against Aizen, which was meant to the the pinnacle of his power, but nope, he's even stronger now, but still not strong enough to really face Ywach.
Inoue heals everyone instantly like 60 times in a row, then unlocks her special power, which... nope, of course Ywach isn't affected by basically being soul-deleted. That would be too easy.
Ishida is against Haschwalth who has him on death's door 15 times, at which point Ishida pulls out his special power he'd been saving for whatever reason (when he should have been dead 3 episodes back), which is instantly countered and leaves him back on death's door, only for "plot" to happen.

Everyone else outside of this? Basically pointless fodder for Ywach and the other Quincies. All the Captains suddenly using upgraded/new versions of their Bankai which were never shown or mentioned before, because they were written into losing positions, but of course we can't have any fan-favourite characters dying here, can we?

Basically, the hype, for me, has gone at this point. We know Ichigo will ass-pull yet more power from the "plot" happening around him and the "power of friendship", with Ywach eventually being defeated. The Captains and even the weak characters like Chad/Inoue will survive, because of course they will, even if they had no business even being where they are to begin with.

Maybe it's just because it's been too damn long, and I'm much older now, but this final section of the story is just far too predictable, and again, way too drawn-out.

Also, I must mention that although the visuals of this show are indeed impressive, like others, I feel like there are way too many cuts and weird camera angles going on. It's an assault on the eyes at points, with there being barely enough time to focus or get to grips with what's actually going on.

Overall, right now, as of episode 6, this is a 6/10 and Mixed Feelings for me. It's fine. It's well voice-acted, with pretty animation, but the plot is just nonsensical at this point, and the pacing is snail speed. I'm disappointed, although maybe it's just because I'm much older now and the nostalgia isn't enough to save it.

To describe this season (and the previous one for that matter) in short, it would be nostalgiabait.

The only thing it has going for it is the well drawn still shots.

In the original Bleach, which was one of my favorite shows growing up, there's a lot of things happening that make it good. Not as good as some other shows mind you, it's not like the original Bleach was the pinnacle of anime, but it still was a solid shonen show.

Now since it got renewed after the long hiatus, it started off great with the first and the second season, but the last two have been ... a boring cringe marathon.

Now to get into specifics.

1. The story is stagnant, I would say it's non-existent but I've read the manga and I know that's not exactly the case but it is very much snail pace and the little there is is hidden in cryptic speeches.

2. The fighting scenes are, for the most part, badly choreographed. Way too many cuts and weird camera angles, way too many impact frames. You're simply lost most of the time.

3. OST isn't what it used to be, it's still the same vibe, but these tracks don't hit like the old ones used to.

4. Personally the worst part of it is the characters' lines. The dialogues are so goddamn cringe and make 0 sense. These characters are fighting over the fate of the world and yet they talk as if this is some play pretend schoolyard game. It's like you took the lines from an angsty teenager's fanfic of Twilight.

5. The power scaling and ways people win/lose fights are just so uninteresting. Since we've long since surpassed the power level where animators can make something that we can both see on screen and that it looks strong, now they have to do something beyond that, but you can't because there's only so much the human eye can track. So now we have powers that look like they're taken from JoJo, except they don't work in this setting.

Past this, the rest of my complaints don't deserve to get a number, so I'll just name them in a row - The constant calling of names mid combat, the inexplicable healing of characters mid combat despite being mortally wounded in the previous frame, the random moments of comedy dialogue in the middle of fighting for the fate of the world, the completely illogical holding out on powers just to lose and then someone else comes and saves you so after they get hurt THEN you use your stronger power that you had all along, the fact that side characters are still puddle deep and the only thing they talk about is Ichigo, the fact that the main villain's power is only there in conversation, but in actual combat it doesn't even exist, they just tell you it exists but you don't see any of it actually happen.

I could probably go on but I don't wanna drag it out, plus I feel like I'd be forcing myself to be petty past this point.

Preliminary since it's still airing but holy what a disappointment. I had to make a review since there wasn't anyone rating it honestly.

If you've already gotten to this point with Bleach you know you're gonna finish it after investing so much time in it, just as I will, but be prepared because you'll likely be disappointed going through it.
