I'm updating my review of "The Exiled Reincarnated Heavy Knight," which I last wrote 30 chapters in, and now with 82 chapters read. I'm happy to say that the manga has continued to get even better and one of the cons it had in the past, "Originality may be questioned since it feels heavily inspired by The Rising of the Shield Hero," can now be deleted as the story feels like it's own thing now. There's also more pros to add, which I'll label by adding an asterisk (*) to show what new parts of the review had been a major update.

PROS:

Underwhelming. That’s my honest opinion on this manga. Now, that doesn’t mean that this was bad in any means, but it does mean that this had wasted potential to become a great read.

To start off with, the great thing about this are some attributes of the characters as they are diverse with their comedic impact. However, most of them are shallow and disappear once their use has been fulfilled. Also, with the trope of reincarnated into a game trope, there really needs to be sufficient world building and significance on past life knowledge to create an immersive read, which this does not do. Besides for ...

▶Summary and recommendation: -----------------------------------------------------------------
[The Exiled Reincarnated Heavy Knight Is Unrivaled in Game Knowledge] Is a bog standard wish fulfilment power fantasy isekai. A japanese man is isekaied into a fantasy world based on a videogame he played. His IRL gaming knowledge is put to use and he becomes very powerful. Not recommended unless you enjoy reading trash (I do).
🟢There is very little sexualization or fanservice.

▶Story: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The introduction is as forced as it comes.
It thrusts the protagonist into the spot needed for the story to start with neither grace nor much thought put ...

This is everything a shonen isekai should be expected to be. They don't all have to elevate the genre. But it's be nice if they could stop dragging it down once in a while and Heavy Knight succeeds on that front.

A classic tale of a MC with the worst class (Heavy Knight) that's actually secretly the best class. Especially if you are an isekai'd expert in the game this world is based on. Using game knowledge to unlock strategies unknown to the populous he aims... for victory. Basically.

A lot of it is the good stuff you've seen in other reads like Surviving the Game ...

This was an unexpected treat. It surpassed my expectations going into it, since I at first thought it was gonna be another generic isekai slop.

Plot. The plot is good. It has good direction, it gets you at the edge of your seat a lot of the times. The story is linear but I personally didn't expect a lot of the twists later on. 7/10

Characters. The characters are one of the aspects of this manga that I like quite a lot. Even the father is analyzed more deeply as the story goes and I've come to like him. The main character is not bland, he's ...

Really liked the combat and rpg mechanics, the characters and their relationships are also good. Really shows how much thought was put into them, though the story is abit lacking.

The biggest strength of this manga is easily the fight scenes and its rpg system. The battles are strategy heavy and actually makes uses of the game mechanics in a realistic way. Positioning/teamwork, classes, skill trees are all thoughtfully designed. The characters are also really well done, you can see how important they are in each of their battles, how they rely on each other and the struggles they face in tough situations.

You can ...

Masterpieces

I'm on 58 chapter and still going on

The art and style is really cool themes and a players know his role very well and carry out

in this story style you will find similar such as SAO (Sword Art Online) with a screen pop up

this is where he have a better understanding of his situation and match his style has he wish and of course he will have a bad starting because of in his fantasy world believe that his class is the most lousy and useless roles but he will proved em wrong by starting off his own.

the arc is really building very ...

When the protag turns 15 he gets the worst class possible, and knowledge that the world is based on a game he played in a former life. He then uses both these, to break the game over his knees as he gets stronger.

While the 15 year old thing is basically never mentioned again, and having him be that age is frankly strange given his behaviour after exile, this is a really fun one.

Instead of the protag being op or becoming op too soon, it's a story of gear and skill progression to become overpowered, and each battle is really hard fought too.

And since ...

The art in this manga is great. Especially the bosses. The story is enjoyable but by the nature of its genre can be a bit repetitive. Power creep shenanigans and the usual trend of new characters typically being overly-antagonistic only to be humbled fairly quickly. I think it is a great manga for newcomers but anyone who has consumed a ton of similar stories might find themselves a bit bored. The story really hooked me when the first party member was added since they have a great dynamic with the MC.

Overall it a good manga especially art-wise. Give it a shot if only for the ...

In light of the anime adaption released in 2026, I wanted to return to the manga adaptation of the light novel and see if it still held up to my glowing impression from 2023. The verdict is, it's complicated.
Within the scope of modern video game-based isekai stories, I still find the game mechanics used here to be immensely satisfying; Right alongside contemporaries like "Hell Mode" and "Shangri-la Frontier". The artwork is a delight, with expressive characters, beautiful scenery, and monster/character class designs cool enough to give you goosebumps. Power scaling in any action story is hard enough without the benefit of a leveling system to ...

A wonderful manga about adventure, action, and progression: "The Exiled Heavy Knight Knows How to Game the System"

Although the title sounds gimmicky, the story itself is serious. As in, it has a vision and executes it in a neat way, never abandoning itself original premise!

The best thing it does, in my opinion, is it balances the protagonist's power level in a satisfying way. Yes, he's a little overpowered, but he gets there through actual effort by communicating well with his friends and using his game knowledge like an expert would if he got isekai'd.
Plus, there's always someone/something stronger than him. So, the story ...

After seeing the low rating this has I was compelled to give this a review, I feel like giving this anything lower than an 8 is criminal, the art work alone is a 10/10. Sure the story could be better and this could have easily not have been an Isekai it would have just worked better as a regular fantasy story in my opinion but the characters are likeable, the character development is amazing. The action is almost non stop but because the art is so good you don't get burnt out. The monsters are extremely well designed almost Berserk level good, the only reason ...

Carried by extremely nice artwork, this isekai/game-like fantasy series is generic to a T. Characters are sadly very mono-tone albeit enjoyable, world building is lackluster but relatively fun, combat scenes are... surprisingly great. Overall good - an easy recommendation for fans of this genre.

The fun of this series exists in how the simple characters interact with the decent world. How the MC abuses his game mechanics gets a minmaxer like myself hyped up, assisted by the beautifully drawn panels. The fights are pretty great, smart decision making from the characters makes for oddly sensible conclusions to otherwise "impossible" fights.

Shame to say, not a single character ...
